Any reason why some of these haven't made it to the general board here (e.g. Sacramento)? Is it possible that some of these are for now only posted through the ASA meeting site?

My understanding is that some departments don't have official permission to hire, but expect to have funding for a tenure line and are positioning themselves to interview at ASA. Until it is made official, these departments are selectively advertising. Anyone have better info? I could be--and typically am--wrong

Some are only posted on the ASA meeting site.
My department has approval for a position, but a set and limited budget for advertising. We chose to spend money on ASA employment service and this meant that we only had enough money for our position to appear on the ASA job bank starting in August.

Here it is: The College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a full-time social science faculty member with expertise and research interests related to the role of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. With a robust academic enterprise in the fields of sciences and engineering, UMass Lowell has a substantial interest in understanding the challenges facing women studying and working in STEM fields. As such, the University is committed to supporting and promoting research and scholarship focused on identifying the barriers to, and facilitators of, women's success in STEM careers, as well as the promotion of professional development of women in STEM at our own university. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the intersections among gender dynamics, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic status, and those with strong quantitative research skills. Additional desirable skills include expertise in measurement development as well as qualitative research methods.

For what it's worth, the employment service did really help me last year in my search for tt jobs. The school I eventually got an offer from, definitely met with me at Asa through the employment service. Just sharing...I think it really depends on what is being offered. Last year it helped, but this year I'm not seeing any I'm going to interview for yet. Also FYI, I didn't accept last years offer for family and relocations issues.

Hoping to make everyone else feel a bit better: just sent the same school a second note asking for an interview because I decided to rely on memory rather than doing the logical thing of checking to see if I'd sent them a note before. Oops. I don't expect to hear back. :/

You are correct UMASS Lowell: in addition to the science studies post there is also the social policy post: The Department of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell will be seeking applications for an Assistant Professor tenure track position (pending final budget approval) from individuals with an interest in becoming part of a vibrant and growing community of scholars. While the area of specialization is open, we are particularly interested in scholars whose research and teaching interests connect broadly to social policy and communities. Ability to teach quantitative methods preferred.

Anyone willing to share which schools have scheduled interviews thus far? I'm feeling antsy not having heard back from messages I sent out.

Invitations - I was contacted by UWV and UMass-Lowell so far. I had sent a note to UMass but not to UWV (and sent notes only to two other schools who never responded).

I'm feeling antsy not having heard back from messages I sent out. I'm wondering if people on hiring committees are just not ready for the summer to be over! Also, last year my partner got a job at a school where he'd requested a meeting at the Employment Service and they never replied. So I wouldn't get too hung up on this round.
