Anyone know if there are internal candidates? No, we're not going to discuss the job prospects of internal candidates on this site.

My letters have just been requested (know because my folio service asked me to approve the transactions).

Were you notified or did your recommenders tell you they got requests?

Their letters were triggered via the online application system and notifications were sent to Interfolio to upload them. This is likely what also happened to "Letters requested," who stated as much.

Does the request of letters from Loyola signal that someone made an initial cut or is this just a delayed request? First time Job Market Candidate here, so I'm still learning the ropes.

It is likely to signify a first cut because the ad explicitly said that letters would not be requested initially and only possibly at "subsequent" points in the search, and there would no reason for this sort of two-step process if there wasn't some sort of initial selection going on.
