How were people notified? Phone? Email? Carrier pigeon?

I have friends who work there. When they were recruited, they were, indeed, notified via carrier pigeon.

Can anyone confirm that Oregon has extended invitations to interview?

The top three candidates on their shortlist for the race hire were contacted and have accepted their invitation for an interview. That means if you have not been contacted you are not one of the three interviewees. The department is in the process of scheduling the interviews now so the exact dates of the interviews are not know yet. The department will decide on the shortlist for the political soc position this week.

The department has selected candidates to bring in for on-campus interviews. They should be contacted today or tomorrow - I'll post again when I hear more.
Good luck to everyone!

I'm really bummed about this one, esp given how few political soc jobs were advertised this cycle. Congrats to whomever got the interviews!

I applied for the race position and just got the email. It said they got 230 applications. Is that just for the race position, or for both?
If that's for the race position, I think I'll shoot myself right now.
