The Department of Sociology at Portland State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor to begin September 2015. Candidates’ research and teaching strengths should be in the field of urban sociology. Our ideal candidate will have publications and a record of grant-seeking appropriate for the rank, and be able to contribute in both teaching and research to PSU’s substantial investment in social sustainability.
The Department of Sociology offers the Ph.D, masters, and bachelors to nearly 400 majors. Faculty specialties include Criminology, Education, Environment, Family, Gender, Medical, Race/Ethnicity, Social Class/Stratification, Social Movements, and Urban Sociology. A successful candidate will be able to contribute to the department’s strengths in these areas.
