One of my recommenders wrote in to double check that they received my letter and the person wrote back that they indeed have a long list and will work this week to make a short list. Who knows, maybe some phone calls this Friday?

I'm honestly a little surprised this job has not attracted more attention compared to other Urban positions like SMU which are 5 pages strong. Is that just the way the cookie crumbles? Or is there another reason for this perceived lack of interest?

Don't know why? Id sure as hell rather live in Portland than Dallas! PSU moved more quickly on their search--rejection letter sent out very early. So there was less time for people to be anxiously waiting and "bumping".
