I know the University of Hawaii system also goes by UH... I'd prefer to be in Hawaii over Houston!

Anyone know of any other Texas schools hiring? Rice? University of Houston? Any UT system schools? Yeah, UTEP will be posting for a hire soon.

UT Pan American will likely be hiring. Maybe two TT positions, possibly in the areas of health, family, aging, gender. Or some combo.

All very unofficial (and it's actually the new UT Rio Grande Valley that will be hiring), but one of the positions might include wording that includes race/ethnicity, particularly if it's tied to health. Think border region, Mexican Americans, health, etc.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will be hiring for a one year Term Assistant Professor, starting August 2015 through May 2016. If you're able to start in January 2015 (minimum ABD in Sociology), that'd be a plus but is not required. If a new hire started in January 2015, the employment contract would be for January 2015 through May 2016. Job description will be available in a few weeks; specialization open. Review date should be end of October. Alaska's awesome if you can stand the cold. Have not seen an ad on the University of Alaska HR site for this position. Any additional details about when it will be posted?

Nattyboh - we're working on it. We've been told that the ad will be up by the end of the week (crossing fingers).
