I know it's still early, but I'm bored waiting for calls to go out.
Anyone have information about potential jobs that haven't been announced yet? In particular, here is a list of places I'd really like to see hire this year.
UNC-Chapel Hill Arizona Minnesota Maryland-College Park Iowa Vanderbilt Oregon Delaware
Anyone have an inside scoop on if these places will hire this year.
Any others you'd like to add to the curiosity list?

Arizona will be hiring this year, maybe two lines. Great place to work and an awesome place to live. Sure, if you enjoy (1) your state government being super broke and totally dysfunctional, (2) a totally uncompetitive offer compared to all departments ranked around it (not the department's fault, but still), and (3) hot dry weather all the time and totally unbearable summers. Good luck with that.

I don't appreciate how posters in this forum are so critical of AZ. Just because it is not NYC it doesn't mean that it is not a good job for some of us. Stop being so condescending and start thinking a bit more before you post. This is clearly unbecoming of a sociologist.

But, isn't the point of anonymous forums condescension without the fear of real sanctioning? More to the point, let's let people that want to live in AZ go ahead and live there. Who cares.
