For the inequalities/theory position? If so, I thought it was an assistant prof job. Did they change the rank?

Yes, Oregon State is lucky to have her. We are sad to see her go, but completely understand why she would: sounds like a great job and a great department.

I'm sorry, but as an ABD who was up for this job, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say it is hard to congratulate someone who already had a tenured job for scooping up another job which someone jobless could have had. If saying this makes me a troll, so be it.

Nice, Charming.
There is a lot of vitriol on this forum against those who already hold jobs. But they are entirely free to apply elsewhere, especially their home university, if the opportunity arises. I've known cases where homegrowns with asst. prof positions lose out to ABD's simply because it's a better fit. It's all about fit.
And you'll fit too. Don't give up!

Actually, my dissertation is done. My defense date is set for next month. I've even published off of it. What seems unfair here is how they would simply change their criteria. However, there is a bigger issue with people moving between jobs keeping back the up and comers. Both the Chronicle and ASA have commented on that fact. Thanks for the kind words, lol.
