Department Info:
I know one of the hardest things to figure out is where exactly a program or department “fits” in a university and what that means for new faculty. UW-Platteville’s identity is largely based on the Engineering and Criminal Justice programs. Criminal Justice has been a large major for over 30 years and currently ranks as the 7th largest major on campus with 208 in-person majors. More recently, the Forensic Investigation major has become the 3rd largest major on campus with 334 majors. Combined, we are the 2nd largest department on campus. In addition to our on-campus courses, we have an online BS and MS in Criminal Justice as well. Faculty may opt in to, but are not required to, teach online courses. Our students are active in the 5 department-affiliated student groups as well. We have a number of projects in the works, including preparations to apply for FEPAC accreditation.
