The Department of Sociology (http://artsandsciences.sc.edu/socy/) at the University of South Carolina invites applications for TWO 9-month, full time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin August 16, 2024. We seek candidates whose research focuses on (1) Family and Gender or (2) Inequalities and Statistics/Quantitative Methods. For both positions, we would particularly welcome applicants whose work includes social network approaches, broadly defined. Quantitative scholars with other expertise, qualitative scholars, and mixed-methods scholars are also invited to apply. Scholars eligible for both positions are encouraged to apply to both positions.
Successful candidates will be expected to maintain an active program of research, teach, contribute to departmental service, and mentor graduate students in our Ph.D. program. Applicants must have a PhD degree in sociology or a closely related field by the start date of employment.
