The Department of Sociology & Anthropology at DePauw University invites applications for a one-year post-doctoral teaching position in Sociology beginning in August 2023. This opportunity is available to those with a Ph.D. completed by August 2023, but not prior to 2018. This position includes a four-course teaching assignment (two per semester), employee health and retirement benefits, faculty development funding, and mentoring.
The candidate’s area of research and teaching expertise is open to all sociological subdisciplines but those with expertise in criminology are preferred. The successful candidate will teach our introductory sociology course both semesters, a 200-level criminology elective in the fall, and a 200-level elective in their area of expertise in the spring. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment and evidence of effective teaching are essential along with an ongoing commitment to inclusive pedagogy and high-impact practices in teaching and learning.
