For timing purposes, some friends and I started making a list of searches that are still likely to schedule interviews before the holidays. Care to help out?
- Temple - York - SUNY Brockport - CSU Long Beach - Otterbein - Penn State Erie

I hope there is more good news to come. No one wants to spend Xmas explaining to Aunt Jean why they can't find a job.

@holidaze, I'm curious what this is based on - about Otterbein in particular. I haven't heard anything so I'm curious if you know something I don't. Thanks. This break is going to be rough. I thought weekends were bad - this will be like a 3-week-long weekend. security check: "all at sea" <-- no kidding!

Sorry, I have no basis for making guesses besides the deadlines. Otterbein is one of the few Nov 1 deadlines that has not contacted candidates yet, so it seems relatively probable that they would begin scheduling some type of interviews before the year's end. We were figuring that Dec 1 deadlines would be less likely to (though possibly could) plow through applications and be in touch within the month. A few of us were talking about this since we're on track with other scheduled or completed interviews to potentially, if the stars align, get an offer in January. We were merely speculating about the limited remaining chances at having competing options in that scenario. And/or we're anxious about how to handle Aunt Jean.

Okay, shew! I was worried for a sec. Then you can add to that list IU South Bend (qual/theory). There's was Oct. 31 or Nov. 1. And as for Aunt Jean.....uhhhhgg she just doesn't get it.

otterbein has final exams this week, so I guess I would be surprised if they contact anyone this week.

Remember that time when Aunt jean brought her green bean "surprise" casserole to thanksgiving dinner? The surprise was E-Coli.
It was the same thanksgiving right after Aunt Jean and uncle Dave got divorced where Aunt Jean brought her "lady friend" Joan to dinner.
Come on you remember, it was the one where grandma made that remark about "the Jews" that made everyone cringe.

Temple's also moving. No interviews before break, but campus visits are now scheduled for January.
