Apologies if this is not the right place to put this, but I figure that since these PhD slots are effectively paid positions, then "jobs" was maybe the right place. Please move this around if not.
If you have great students but no funding for them, please think about encouraging them to apply to our programs in Management & Marketing at the University of Melbourne.
While the website makes it sound like only students with an undergraduate in management or marketing can apply, in fact cognate degrees are welcome and sociology students are well suited to either program, whether qualitative or quantitative.
Funding is currently AUD$31,500 per year for the 5 year program, which is 2 years of coursework plus 3 years of ABD research. International students fully funded and Australian citizens can also apply for the RTP government scholarships.
Preferable for students to have some research experience like an honors project, big solo class project, etc. to talk about and they also need to have a research proposal to apply. The system also makes it sound like they need to select an advisor upfront, but they can just put in the PhD director (Dr. Andrew Yu) and select a real advisor at the end of coursework. Probably better if quantitative students come in with adequate background, because the coursework doesn't have a full series of classes to get from zero to HLM - as with many programs, it's either an intro or high level without that bridge.
Applications are assessed on a rolling basis:
