The Department of Sociology at Alma College, Alma, Michigan invites applications for the position of Lecturer for the 2022-2023 year. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2022.
The department seeks a candidate who will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context. Teaching responsibilities will include courses such as Principles of Sociology, Social Deviance, and other courses to cover departmental needs. A Ph.D. is strongly preferred, but candidates who are ABD or with a master’s degree will be considered.
Review of applications will begin April 15th and will continue until the position is filled. Applications should be sent via email and should include the following documents attached in Microsoft Word or PDF format: a cover letter; C.V.; contact information for three professional references (name, email address, and phone number), and a teaching statement that incorporates evidence of teaching effectiveness.
