As someone who has made some mistakes in the interview process, I’m curious, what is the worst thing that you’ve heard someone do on the job market while interviewing (or that you’ve done yourself) while still managing to get the job (or at least move forward in the process)?

In a 1-on-1, I panicked and pretended to have read something I hadn't. It didn't go well. Grateful that I still got the job.

saw a male job candidate put his arm around a female student during a research talk and hugged her close to demonstrate how parents get close to their kids so their kids can smell them (which had nothing to do with his talk?) student was super creeped out and so was everyone else.
