Does anyone have a sense of what the timelines are this year for schools? Seems like some people are starting to feel demoralized because they haven’t heard and in before times maybe that would be true, but has COVID perhaps delayed how fast some of these schools are moving? I still haven’t heard anything about quite a few positions still that were due in October

One school had a deadline of August 5th and didn't contact me for a preliminary Zoom interview until September 24th. I usually assume that I didn't get the position, but the harder part (at least for me) is waiting after the Zoom interview is over. You have to wait for HR, approval from the Dean, etc., and it's no telling how long it might take.

did a campus visit and now in the waiting game. It was my only campus visit, so I'm just thinking about it constantly ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

It was my only campus visit, so I'm just thinking about it constantly ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am in the same boat, 1 campus visit and they said they wanted to make an offer before Thanksgiving, so I am losing it. Most of the screening interviews I have had recently aren't planning to reach out about campus visits until after Thanksgiving, so I am not going crazy about those yet. |

I have a couple campus visits coming up soon, but schools that are at the top of my list probably won't get back to me until December. I'm just worried about being forced to make a decision too early if I end up getting an offer this month.

had a couple flyouts.
1 went okay, but it's been almost a month so I guess I didnt get the job. have another coming up soon and it may be my last chance. sigh.

How long was it after you finished your interviews before you heard back? Fairly certain I was the last interview, they said sometime before christmas but I'm dying here, spent all day staring at my phone willing my one campus interview to call me back.

I’m an AP on the market for the third time. it’s agony. I had all the campus visits I’ll have this season and now I have to wait and see if I get any offers. In my experience depts try to vote within two weeks of the final candidate visit. It can take about one additional week for dean/diversity office approval. the challenge is you don’t always know if you were the last person or what. |
