The O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University is searching for a tenure track assistant professor with specialties in U.S. health policy in one or more of the following areas: health care markets, health and healthcare equity, social determinants, race/ethnicity, genetics and social networks, behavioral and mental health, and related areas of policy. Research methods may be quantitative and/or qualitative in nature. Candidates may have research interests in policy design, implementation, and/or evaluation. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a nationally/internationally recognized program of high-quality research, including external funding support, and a successful record teaching and mentoring students from all backgrounds. The O’Neill School houses bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs and courses in health care management and health policy, public affairs, environmental science, and public and environmental policy, supported by excellent, collegial, and highly regarded faculty.

Minimum educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in a related field (e.g. economics, political science, public administration, public affairs/public policy, public health or sociology/demography). Candidates should have a record of publication commensurate with appointment at the Assistant Professor level. We are especially interested in applicants with a strong commitment to mentoring, teaching, or outreach to people from diverse backgrounds (including first-generation college students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+) and an interest in contributing to the O’Neill School’s programs, curricular offerings, and research portfolio in ways that enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion. Interest in disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations is strongly supported and encouraged.
