NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY-The Department of Criminal Justice seeks applications for a 9-month tenure-track assistant professor position (#2011001796) beginning Fall 2012. Located in a unique geographical and multi-cultural region, New Mexico State University is a minority and Hispanic serving university designated a Doctoral/Research University - Extensive by the Carnegie Foundation. Our multi-disciplinary Department values diversity, effective teaching, critical scholarship, outreach, and cross-disciplinary work. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses online and on-campus from existing curriculum and new courses created in an applicant's specialty area to a diverse student population, advising students, conducting critical scholarship/research, and participating in university and community service. Successful candidates must complete all requirements for a Ph.D. in a related social science or humanities discipline by August 15, 2012. A specialty field is open, but candidates able to complement existing areas of specialty of our multi-disciplinary faculty are preferable.
