I received an email last night from Penn State that they've narrowed their candidate list down to a short list and I am not on it. I'm guessing if you didn't receive this email and haven't heard anything, you still have a shot.

Around 60 applied to the UMass labor position, so I am just guessing that slightly less than that applied to this one just because it's a little later in the process. That's a lot of people considering how few openings there are for labor folks.
Yes, Penn State had an opening for an assistant professor in their department of labor studies.
