Risk of working at Small LACs?

What is the consensus on the potential risks of working at small liberal arts colleges (private one's in particular) during and post-pandemic?

Is this is a viable long-term option for employment or are we better off working at public colleges/universities - should we be lucky enough to get a position? Thoughts?

Things you probably want to look for:

1) is it selective? Selective LACs are more likely to be viable long-term
2) if not, do they fill a local niche so that they will continue to draw students?
3) how big is the endowment? Colleges with small endowments are at much greater risk of closing
