According to the longstanding guidelines of this forum, we only provide names of candidates who have accepted an offer. And we encourage those posting this information to only do so if it is in the public realm or we have some sense that the candidate is okay with this information being published.
Providing the names of candidates who have received offers (but have not yet accepted them) is interfering with their ability to negotiate with both the offering institution and others that might still be interested. For example, if an institution with less prestige sees that one of their top candidates has already received an offer, they might give up trying to lure that person or provide a competing offer -- even if the candidate would prefer them for some reason.
Here's another situation: perhaps a candidate already has a tenure-track position but is quietly looking to move. Public notice that they have received an offer -- even if they don't plan on accepting it -- could have serious consequences if they decide to stay. So let's not make life more difficult for any candidates as they are simply doing their best to manage their careers. Like all of us are.
I will do my best to keep an eye on this as the job market season progresses. This moderation rule is always in effect.
