Got a letter today (snail mail) with an EEOE form. The letter also said
"At present, your paperwork is incomplete. If you are notified that you are one of the applicants invited to campus, we will need your official transcript unopened and addressed to the FY-12-11 Assistant Professor Search Committee. As for the present time, we need three letters of recommendation."
Does this mean short/long list? Or did everyone who applied get this?

I haven't received that letter yet, but I don't think it means anything other than they have begun review of the applicants.

OP here.
What's weird is that the wiki says they've scheduled phone/skype interviews. Don't know when the wiki was changed for that, but there seems to be some conflicting information. Would they have scheduled phone interviews with incomplete files?

I just got the same letter in the mail saying my application is incomplete.
It does seem weird that they would schedule phone interviews after just having sent out a request for more info...

not yet, but I would be surprised if I did because I know for a fact that my file is complete. If they've scheduled interviews, they haven't scheduled one with me and so I am bummed out. ;-(

I received an e-mail from the search committee on November 11th asking for a phone interview on November 15th or November 21st. This came a few days after receiving a letter in the mail stating that my application was complete.

I just received a letter saying my application is incomplete and that they need a transcript, I don't remember them asking for a transcript, am I wrong? Moreover, should I bother sending it if they have already started with phone interviews and I wasn't contacted about doing one?

YES, you should bother. Never give up on a position just because you've heard something on the rumor mill. Even the best intentioned people will often have outdated or incomplete information on the search.
Maybe they didn't like the people they interviewed over the phone? You never know.
