Job Description:
Tenure-Track Assistant Professor – Criminology, Law and Society
George Mason University’s Department of Criminology, Law and Society invites applicants for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to start August 2021. The department is seeking candidates with significant accomplishments in research, teaching and service.
Responsibilities:
Active research in any area(s) of criminology, criminal justice, and law and society that complement existing strengths of the department;
Teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
Mentoring and supervising graduate student research;
Providing service to the department, college and university by participation on faculty committees.
Required Qualifications:
The department is seeking candidates with active research agendas in any area of criminology, criminal justice, and law and society;
Corrections and cybercrime preferred, but all applications will be considered;
A Ph.D. in a relevant field of study or applicants near the completion of their doctorate will be considered;
Strong evidence of committed to teaching in a multidisciplinary environment and working with a diverse student population;
Must be able to demonstrate promise in scholarly research.
