I’m not sure if it’s possible but for positions that have been filed with a hire (ie Portland State, Old Dominion, Cal State-LA, there are probably a few others) can we move the threads here to keep them out of the searches?

I'm sorry, but I doubt I will take this on. Moving the threads would be easy enough -- it is just a few clicks -- but this would require a lot of judgment calls on the part of moderators to determine when a search is truly finished. Given that most hires are not publicly announced, we can't simply take the word of an anonymous poster that an offer has been made and accepted. I'm not going to expend any of my limited resources looking for verification. My time is better spent here keeping the trolls at bay and taking care of those thread cleanup tasks as they arise (renaming, merging duplicates, etc..)
Thanks for the suggestion, but individual users of this forum will just have to bookmark the threads that are of interest to them and use the search functions provided by proboards.com, imperfect as they are.

Fair point! Thanks for considering it.
