Job Description:
The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice Studies of Longwood University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Criminal Justice (#F0129) to begin August 2020.
Applicants for this position must be generalists in Criminal Justice/Criminology who can teach lower level and upper division undergraduate courses. Candidates who can teach criminal justice systems related courses preferred. Individuals with criminal justice practitioner experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate an ongoing research agenda. The successful candidate will be expected to advise students and participate in departmental, college, and university service. Longwood's Criminal Justice Program has approximately 270 undergraduate majors.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related discipline. Applicants who are ABD with a firm defense date will be considered.
Additional Information:
Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits accompany this position. A successful criminal background investigation is required.
