The Department of Sociology at Dartmouth College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning fall 2020. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Sociology or a related field before the appointment begins and should have research and teaching expertise in inequality, broadly construed. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can contribute to one or more of our research areas (Health, Political and Economic Sociology, Race and Ethnicity, and Social Psychology) and to our core undergraduate curriculum. We will begin reviewing applications on September 1, 2019. Dartmouth has a strong commitment to supporting both quality research and teaching. These goals are facilitated by the school’s resource-rich research environment as well as the quarter system, which allows the four course annual classroom teaching load to be covered in two ten-week terms with a third term in residence for research and other departmental obligations and a fourth term off. For more information about the department, see: sociology.dartmouth.edu/. Applications should be submitted through interfolio: apply.interfolio.com/66665
