The Sociology Department at Georgia State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology in Sexuality, beginning August 2020. The successful applicant will join a highly ranked Sociology department in the Southeast (U.S. News & World Report), in a college that is committed to building our department’s research strength in the area of sexuality. While the specialty area within sexuality is open, overlap with one of our other core areas is preferred. Qualified candidates will be able to teach core sexuality courses at graduate and undergraduate levels. Ability to teach other core graduate courses such as theory or methods would be a bonus. Evidence of excellence and experience in teaching is also preferred. Capable mentoring of graduate students is required, as is participating constructively in departmental governance. A Ph.D. in sociology is required at the time of appointment.
