The Division of Behavioral Sciences is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor of Sociology. This position directly supports the interdisciplinary Human Services major and the Sociology minor through sociology course instruction, student advisement, and collaborative curriculum management. Candidates should possess expertise in content areas relevant to the field of Human Services. Potential teaching assignments include courses related to race and ethnicity, family dynamics, social stratification, research methods, and general sociology. Other responsibilities for the position include supervision of undergraduate internships, professional learning experiences, and research as appropriate, as well as active participation in school and university committees and initiatives. Evidence of accomplishments or potential for success in research presentations and publications is desirable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: ABD in Sociology
Experience: Evidence of successful college level teaching
Skills: Evidence of potential for success in research presentations and publications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Earned doctorate in Sociology
Experience: Record of successful teaching
Skills: Evidence of research presentations and publications.
