The Department of Sociology at the University of Kansas invites applications for a two-year position, with the possibility of extending it to a third year, at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning August 18, 2019. This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position. Located 35 miles west of the Kansas City metropolitan area, Lawrence offers many cultural opportunities of a university town. Faculty responsibilities include teaching six undergraduate sociology courses per academic year (a 3-3 teaching obligation), advising students, conducting research, and providing service to the department. Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. no later than August 2019. The successful candidate for the position must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start of the position.
