The Harvard College Writing Program at Harvard University hires several preceptors each year from a variety of disciplines. Each preceptor develops a writing course on an academic topic, and teaches two sections per semester of fifteen students per section. Salary and benefits are competitive. Appointments begin on July 1, 2012. Preceptors are eligible for multi-year contracts. Preference will be given to candidates with PhD (or PhD nearly completed) in traditional liberal arts discipline taught in Harvard College; or MFA; or terminal degrees with relevant experience teaching writing in a field taught in Harvard College; who have college teaching experience; and who demonstrate a lively interest in issues of writing pedagogy. The website for this indicates that there will be several hiring phases, and I'm curious whether to know whether they're moving ahead before the holidays.
Has anyone heard anything?
