The Department of Sociology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2019. Ideal candidates will be serious educators and scholars with excellent teaching skills and a research agenda with potential for peer-reviewed publications in the discipline. We are looking for broadly trained sociologists or criminologists (with a sociological background) who can teach Introduction to Criminology and upper level electives related to criminology. The ideal candidate will also be able to teach Sociology of Gender and courses in research methods or statistics. The regular teaching load is three courses per semester, including both online and traditional courses. A Ph.D. is required by the date of appointment.
