The Assistant/Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice is a full-time, tenure track position responsible for teaching the senior thesis/capstone course for criminal justice and sociology majors, as well as introduction to sociology, a course on race and ethnicity, and other courses which contribute to the majors in sociology and criminal justice. The successful candidate will be broadly trained in sociology, criminology, and/or criminal justice; will have a strong understanding of quantitative research methods; and have academic interests which will complement current areas of faculty expertise. This position will teach both online, and in the classroom. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice will be responsible for student advising and supervision of internships, and providing service to the University and community. The teaching load for this position is 3/4. MSUB is a teaching-oriented institution and excellence in teaching is a primary focus. The candidate is expected to share the University commitment to outcomes assessment and continuous quality improvement.
