Assistant Professor of Higher Education Leadership
The College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Higher Education Leadership to begin July 1, 2019. The selected individual will conduct an active research and publication program, teach masters and doctoral courses in higher education, supervise doctoral dissertations, and provide service for the university and the profession. While areas of research and teaching are open, the search committee will prioritize candidates with expertise and interest in teaching courses related to undergraduate students, including retention and student development. Other preferred qualifications include expertise in quantitative methodologies and an active and sustainable research agenda with the promise of external funding in an area associated with higher education.

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in higher education (or relevant fields such as sociology, political science, economics, public policy, and psychology) is required by August 2019. Candidate's expertise should fall within the central areas of teaching and research on higher education with priority to expertise on students (e.g. issues such as retention, diversity, and access). Other areas of expertise could include: community colleges; organization, administration, and governance; policy, finance, and economics; and international higher education. Candidates must show productivity or potential for national prominence through research in peer reviewed journals. Candidates must additionally possess the ability to teach graduate courses related to higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
While areas of research and teaching are open, the search committee will prioritize candidates with expertise and interest in teaching courses related to undergraduate students, including retention and student development. Other preferred qualifications include expertise in quantitative methodologies and an active and sustainable research agenda with the promise of external funding in an area associated with higher education.
