Monmouth College, a private, residential liberal arts college in Illinois invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociology beginning fall 2019.
Area of specialization is flexible, with opportunities to teach courses of the candidate’s choosing; however, the successful candidate should be able to teach an introductory-level course (e.g., Social Problems), a general course in Research Methods (including both quantitative and qualitative methods) and a course in Criminology. In addition, the successful candidate may be asked to teach a course in the college’s Integrated Studies program. Candidates should exhibit enthusiasm for Monmouth College’s liberal arts mission for undergraduate teaching. A PhD in Sociology at the time of application is desired but ABDs will be considered.
