The Sociology Department at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor who specializes in Gender, Sexuality and Medical Sociology in a continuing academic year appointment. We prefer a willingness to teach statistics, methods and/or theory. Further, teaching would include courses both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Besides teaching duties, candidates will engage in research and service activities. Ph.D. in Sociology, or related field, preferred at time of employment, beginning August 2019, however ABDs are considered. Persons who have not completed all degree requirements by the beginning of the contract period may be considered for a one-year term interim appointment at the rank of instructor. Salary is commensurate with credentials, qualifications, and experience.
