I am about to graduate and would like to get a postdoc. Is it even possible to do that without any publications? I have a couple of applied book chapters but I assume these don't count. I don't have any other pubs submitted right now. Thanks!

First, you have to keep in mind that several things are called "postdoc" nowadays. Anything from "being hired by someone with an NSF grant" to "fancy named visiting professor" to prestigious postdocs. As such, I'd say it is possible, but without more information its hard to advise, because "postdoc" means a lot of different things.

Thanks for your response. I'm hoping for any sort of job that will allow me time to publish from my diss or will involve me in ongoing research so I can publish from that.
