The Department of Government and Justice Studies at Appalachian State University invites applications for one-year faculty position in Criminal Justice at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 2018. The areas of specialization are open, but with a specific need for the court system and criminal law/procedure. A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice/Criminology or a related discipline is preferred at the time of appointment, but ABDs will also be considered. A J.D. is not sufficient for this position. The teaching load is 3 courses per semester for faculty with an active research agenda.
