Assistant Professor Position Description
The Department of Sociology in the Shaheen College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Indianapolis is seeking a faculty member in sociology beginning in August 2018, for a nine-month, tenure track appointment at the assistant professor level. The department is recognized for faculty and student engagement in the local community, its research concentration, including through its Community Research Center (CRC), and its strong focus on social inequality. Areas of expertise should include a combination of research methods/statistics along with urban and community sociology, social inequality, family, or theory. Opportunities to teach in other areas of expertise may be possible depending upon departmental needs. Interest in community engagement and/or supporting student and community research is a plus. PhD or ABD with strong evidence of completing the doctorate prior to the beginning of the academic year required.
Instructor Position Description
