The Department of Sociology and Justice Studies invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Criminal Justice to begin September 2018. The Criminal Justice program is an interdisciplinary professional program grounded in the liberal arts. It offers classes from various academic disciplines, including sociology, political science, psychology, and criminal justice. It prepares students for vocations in law enforcement, corrections, the juvenile justice system, and criminal justice investigation. The program is a part of the College of Social Sciences, which offers opportunities for creative interdisciplinary course work and research.
We seek a colleague with a strong commitment to students, collegiality, quality teaching and advising as well as scholarly potential. The faculty member hired for this position will be welcomed into a departmental community dedicated to cultural diversity, community engagement, and social justice.

Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a closely related field. ABDs may be considered, but must have doctoral completion by September 1, 2018.
- Teaching experience is required; preference may be given to candidates with one or more years teaching experience at the instructor level.
- Commitment to an active research agenda
- Demonstrated teaching, research, and critical engagement in gender, race, and/or class inequalities.
- Demonstrated high degree of interest, ability, and/or experience promoting cultural diversity, universal accessibility, community engagement, and social justice
