Hey all,
Just got an interview somewhere that I would be thrilled to work (at least I think I would!) I am an advanced assistant so this isn't my first rodeo. For anyone who has successfully changed jobs while already on the tenure track at your first academic job, any tips for interviewing? What to say, what to look for, etc? Thanks!

When it comes to the "why do you want to move" questions, whatever the situation in your current department, don't shit on the place. It only comes off as complaining. No one assumes any place is perfect. And it is a small world. The only push factor that can serve you well in an interview is geographic. Focus more on the pull factors, especially if they're non-obvious.

have a positive reason to be going there vs. talking about how you hate your current school. Have a few slides at the beginning of the talk that go over the themes of your research and previous publications in each theme and then end with the theme you will talk about that day before transitioning into the talk.
