DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND SOCIETY
FRANKLIN AND MARSHALL COLLEGE
LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA
POSITION: The Department of Business, Organizations and Society (BOS) at Franklin and Marshall College invites applications for two tenure-track positions for the general category of organizational behavior and strategic management starting July 1, 2012. Appointment will be at the Instructor or Assistant Professor rank, depending on qualifications.
This hiring initiative is part of a multi-year process of extending and refining F&M's signature undergraduate program in Business, Organizations, and Society (BOS). We especially seek faculty interested in conducting research and teaching in business, management and related topics in a liberal arts context. If you share our passion for educating leader-citizens who are organizationally thoughtful and savvy and who are equipped to lead positive change for the world, then we would like to hear from you.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should possess or be close to completing a doctorate in management, strategy, organization behavior, or a related social science discipline. We strongly encourage candidates in the social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, economics, anthropology, political science) who study management and organization issues to apply.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY: Franklin & Marshall College is committed to high quality teaching in a liberal arts environment. The teaching load is 3/2 and includes courses primarily in organizational behavior and strategy as well as participation in the College's general education program. We seek candidates capable of contributing to our curriculum in other areas as well, including sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethics.
THE COLLEGE: Franklin & Marshall College is a small (2,300 undergraduates) highly selective, residential liberal arts college with a fully integrated business program. The BOS Department (www.fandm.edu/business.xml) expects high quality and engaged research, teaching, and service and offers a collegial and supportive environment. BOS includes courses in organizational behavior, strategic management, marketing, finance, international business, accounting, quantitative methods, sustainability, and law and business ethics.
APPLICATION: We will begin reviewing applications immediately and will be interviewing at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in San Antonio. Only complete applications will be considered. Please send or e-mail a formal letter of application, statements of teaching and research philosophy, graduate school transcript, teaching evaluations, and a current curriculum vitae to the address below. Please arrange for three individuals who can attest to your research and teaching fit with our mission to send letters of recommendation directly to us. All application materials should be sent to:
