Job Summary/Basic Function: The Sociology Program at Texas A&M University-San Antonio invites applicants for a tenure-track position as assistant professor with preferred area in quantitative methods and secondary areas in demography, health, and/or globalization, beginning Fall 2018. Successful applicants will have the ability to teach courses in demography, health, quantitative methods, and/or globalization. Ability to teach statistics at undergraduate levels is necessary, with a possibility to teach graduate statistics courses in the future. Areas of strength in the department include environmental sociology, sex, gender, and sexualities, racial and ethnic studies focused on Latinxs, and qualitative methodologies. Complementary scholars will be strongly considered. Ph.D. preferred but ABD applicants are welcome. Teaching load is a 3/3 with possibility for summer teaching.
Work Hours: Flexible to suit course schedule. Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes. Teaching load is a 3/3 with possibility for summer teaching.
