The Department of Sociology at Montclair State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2018. We seek a publicly engaged sociologist with expertise in Environmental Sociology; additional fields may include Health/Medicine and Social Theory.
The ideal candidate should have strong teaching skills and scholarly productivity commensurate with experience. Evidence of successful grant acquisitions or specific plans for grants seeking in the future will also be considered. Activities required of all faculty members include developing an active research program that will lead to publication and grants, curriculum development, recruitment and retention activities, advising, and service to the department, college and university. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower-level introductory courses, upper-level undergraduate courses in his/her area of specialization, and, as part of the Certificate in Data Collection and Management, graduate courses in policy/program evaluation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Ph.D. in Sociology. Doctorate should be completed by August 1, 2018.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
