The Department of Sociology at Brandeis University invites applications for a tenure–track Assistant Professor or a tenured Associate Professor in medical sociology/sociology of health and illness. The appointment will begin Fall 2018.
Area of secondary specialization is open. We are especially interested in scholars whose research focuses on inequalities – including those structured by gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and disability – and/or who work in global and transnational contexts. The appointment will be in the Department of Sociology with an affiliation with Brandeis University's vibrant interdisciplinary program in Health: Science, Society and Policy.
Applicants should demonstrate potential for high-quality research and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. More senior candidates should have a record of publications in journals and/or books from established publishers and a substantial teaching portfolio.
