I just was informed that I was the top choice of a search committee. Offer hasn't been officially been made yet, but should be coming in the next week or so (unless dean overrules sc, which is possible, though I think not likely). At the same time, I was a finalist at the position I really want, who are meeting this week to pick their top choice. So the question is: do I tell the one I really want about the other offer? On one hand, telling them about it, but reassuring them that they are my top choice might make them go after me. But on the other it might make them weary of having to engage in negotiations. Anyone with any actual SC experience here to share?
