Minnesota State University, Mankato (MN) - Assistant Professor, Applied/Public Sociology
Responsibilities:
-Teach courses in one of the following areas: Applied/Public Sociology or Organizational Dynamics.
-Supervise internships and/or service learning.
-Research Productivity.
-Services to the department, university and community.
-Continuing professional development.
-Contribute to student growth and development.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Ph.D. in Sociology or Ph.D. in a field within Human Services or Public/Social Policy (ABD applicants with expected completion dates by August 14, 2017 will be considered; official transcripts due by September 30, 2017)
Preferred Qualifications:
-Demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, conducting quantitative research and ability to facilitate quantitative student research projects.
-Demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, advising undergraduate and graduate students.
-Demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, supervising student interns and/or students doing service learning.
-Demonstrated record of, or strong potential for, research and teaching skills in one or more of the following areas: public policy, globalization, rural sociology, organizational leadership and change, program administration, and/or applied/public sociology.
-Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and social justice.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment
