Job Summary
The Department of Sociology at Central Washington University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time non-tenure track position to begin September 2017. The position is located at the Ellensburg Campus. We seek a broadly trained sociologist with a serious commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting as well as a strong commitment to social justice, diversity, equity and inclusiveness. Areas of specialization within sociology are open. The position requires teaching online courses, introductory, intermediate and other courses to meet department needs. The teaching load is 40-45 instructional units over three quarters. Our department takes great pride in preparing Sociology majors and minors for careers and/or postgraduate education through small classes, individual attention, and undergraduate research opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
-Master's Degree or ABD in Sociology
-Evidence of effective teaching at the university level
Preferred Qualifications
-Ph.D. in Sociology
-Experience in online teaching
Pay & Work Schedule
Salary: Mid $40,000, with benefits
Appointment: Full-time Lecturer, 9 months
