Rutgers Crim? I never saw an announcement for it...there's nothing on the ASC jobs board, nor on Rutgers' employment bulletin. Where did you see the announcement?

This job is not for main campus. It is for the branch campus in Camden. Race, Crime, and Social Control: Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Department of Sociology and the Program in Criminal Justice, seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor, to begin employment in Fall 2017, working in the area of race, crime and social control, preferably with a US focus. We are particularly interested in scholars who approach issues of crime, imprisonment, and social control as they reflect and reinforce social and racial inequalities, but we are open to other emphases. Methodological orientation is open. Applications will be reviewed starting October 1, with the process continuing until the position is filled. Candidates should upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and 1-2 writing samples to apply.interfolio.com/36592, and identify three referees who will upload their recommendation letters to interfolio separately. We seek a scholar who displays evidence of an ability to support Rutgers strong commitment to diversity. Ph.D. is required at time of appointment. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other classification protected by law. - See more at: chroniclevitae.com/jobs/0000329786-01#sthash.uhwNBSfV.dpuf

You are confusing the SCHOOL of criminal justice at Rutgers New Brunswick with the Sociology Department's program (track) in criminal justice. If anyone is applying for this job, you may want to do your homework to know what you're applying for. I can confirm that Rutgers main campus is not hiring a criminal justice professor, however Rutgers Camden is. This job is not for main campus. It is for the branch campus in Camden.
