Anyone hear from Baylor? Ad stated they started reviewing applications on 9/15, but would give full consideration to those submitted by 10/1.

Why would you want to work at a school with socially conservative, anti-LGBT morals like Baylor?

Maybe he or she is a socially conservative, anti-LGBT sociologist. Don't laugh. We need homes for them too, and someone's gotta work there. Better them than someone who will hate it.

Baylor intervened when a new assistant tried to move in with her boyfriend - which went against the statement of faith she agreed to when she accepted the job. she left

This thread is meant for updates on Baylor's search, not reasons why not to apply there. Religious universities can apply for EEOC exemptions; know this when applying/interviewing, and if it isn't right for you then move on.

Can not speak to the administration at Baylor, but I have found the sociology faculty to be professional, open-minded, and engaged in quality scholarship.

Showing your ignorance SJMRlurker. Regenerus (might want to watch your spelling) is at UT Austin and a scholar at Baylor's Institute for the Studies of Religion, not on the Baylor sociology faculty.

Regenerus is like a Regnerus that grows new arms after you cut them off. As an aside, you proved your point that you're not him, but not in the way you intended.

Once again the Baylor link becomes the repository for unhelpful comments. Still hoping someone might post an update when available. Thanks.

The correct spelling is actually Reneg-rus. At least that is what he told me at our last Opus Dei Anonymous meeting.
