Mississippi State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociology beginning August 16, 2017. Candidates who conduct research in, and are committed to teaching about, rural sociology are of interest. Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching complements our existing areas of concentration and research expertise.
The department has more than 400 undergraduate majors and approximately 40 sociology graduate students with strong ties to the African American Studies Program, Gender Studies Program, the Social Science Research Center, the National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center, and the Southern Rural Development Center.
